Hi! My name is Dylan van der Meij and I live in Noordwijk, a small town on the Dutch shore. Growing up my parents were always kitesurfing. I tried it when I was very young, only ten years of age, but I couldn't really get the hang of it. The oldschool wipika kites dragged me over the beach like I was it's toy! When i was thirteen I gave kiting another go. This time I tried getting on a board. From the moment I tried kitesurfing I was Hooked! Together with my parents and my twin sister we bought a new set of kites. Since then my whole family is addicted to kitesurfing and goes out as often as possible.

In 2009, after just one year of kiting, I entered my first competition. I could only do some railly's and s-bend's but I was happy to compete. After a ton of time on the water and enjoying every minute of it, I finished first in the KBO 2011 competition.

My focus really lies with newschool kitesurfing. There is so much variation in handle passes that it keeps me motivated to push myself day after day. You can always learn new trick or make the one's you already mastered more perfect. Of course I enjoy oldschool kitesurfing as well. Going big when it's to windy to unhooked always feels awesome! Going big on a board off or doing a full speed kiteloops is something I enjoy a lot.

Flysurfer is supporting me with the awesome kites and boards I ride. Flysurfer is very well known for the foil kites they make. I am really happy with the kites, as they enable me to be on the water all the time to practice my tricks, even in extreme low wind conditions.

O'Neill support me with the best wetsuits (first in, last out J) and the coolest clothes. I really like their colourful style, cool board shorts and eye for detail. O'Neill is founded in 1952 so they have the knowledge to make the best products!

Versusshop is my first sponsor, initially they sponsored me with kites and a board. Now they support me with accessories like the Go-Pro and board repairs, together with Versus owner Eddy Lansink I assisted to develop the Flyradical line for Flyboards!

NB visuals, provides and support me with a personal website and all the media I need! Together with Nick de Bruijn we go out to kite and we also take some time to get new photo and video material.
